I visited Pedvalie Sculpture Park in Latvia in the summer of 2010 for the Annual Leguia Festival. At this group exhibition, I participated in making a 30 foot fire sculpture. During this performance, the fire flames exceeded 60 feet high. This is a traditional festival where the Latvian people give thanks to the sun by creating a fire on the shortest night of the year, the summer solstice. In the Pedvalie Sculpture Park, all the projects and sculptures were made out in the field using only hand tools with the limited natural surrounding resources.
